VISIONS OF ATLANTIS: PIRATES
Review by: Metal Mom Rita
Forming in the year 2000, out of Austria, Visions of Atlantis is a band that may seem like the others, but when you listen closer, they have a unique musical range. In fact, recently, Visions of Atlantis did their first North American tour alongside Dragonforce, and we at MetalTitans were fortunate enough to get to see them. They put on such a great show and when I found out they had a new album coming out, I was eager to review it. Here is the track listing for their latest album, "Pirates", below:
1. Pirates Will Return
2. Melancholy Angel
3. Master The Hurricane
4. Clocks
5. Freedom
6. Legion Of the Seas
7. Wild Elysium
8. Darkness Inside
9. In My World
10. Mercy
11. Heal The Scars
12. I Will Be Gone
If you enjoy Symphonic power metal, then hop on board, as this will be right up your alley and enjoy what they have created on this album. Melodic, then faster, it is all good, vocals are amazing and bring a sound that captures your attention. The songs are all so enjoyable, and unique from one another, which I wasn't expecting such a range in styles, since most bands these days, don't venture outside their sound too much.
This band manages to mix the deeper male clean vocals alongside her harmonizing voice, throw in a mix of symphonic metal, with a dash of faster beats from time to time, and you get Visions of Atlantis. The theme of the band stems from the myth of Atlantis, hence why the idea of Pirates behind this new record, is all the more suiting to their overall themed inspiration behind the band.
I really can't do this album justice, you yourself need to listen and know what I am talking about, Pick any of those songs above, and you will know what I mean.
