REQUIEM'S EMBRACE EXCLUSIVE

Metaltitans very own, Metal Mom had the opportunity to talk with Eleonora Damiano and Alex Mele of Italy's symphonic power metal band "REQUIEM’S EMBRACE". Their latest album, "Nightmares & Fairytales" has just been released through their recently inked deal with Sleazy Rider Records, check out our exclusive below to check out this new and upcoming band.

Band Members:
Eleonora Damiano • Vocals
Alex Mele • Guitars
Francesco Ciancio • Guitars
Silvia Pistolesi • Bass
Fabio Bernardi • Keyboards
Emiliano Cantiano • Drums

MT: Tell us how you came to name the band "Requiem Embrace" ?

ED: I was listening to one of my favorite songs, "when the crowds are gone" by Savatage, the song at one point says "another note for my requiem," that's where Requiem's Embrace comes from.

MT: How long have you all been together?

ED: It initially started as a collaboration between Alex and me a couple of years ago taking shape day by day in the band you see now!

MT: We would love to know how each member came to be in the band?

AM: Well… I met the first time Eleonora during a dinner with common friends!, I know very well Fabio Bernardi since 1996… I met Silvia thanks to Instagram, and about Emiliano Cantiano well… I know him since a very long time… but this is the first time that we collaborate! About Francesco Ciancio… is the second guitarist in my first band… KALEDON!

MT: Is this the first band you have been in?

AM: ehm… no! I play with Kaledon since 1998! Also the other guys are in several other bands! We are veterans ahuahahuahu

MT: What made you choose symphonic power metal, did you have any influences?

AM: oh well… it is a normal choice for me! This is my main background since a very long time… so when I write new material it is pretty sure that it will be power metal or similar.

MT: You just released ( July 5) your new EP titled "Nightmares and Fairytales", how has the response been so far?

ED: I have to admit that I personally receive positive feedback every day... so now we have to work well not to disappoint expectations!!! XD

MT: What made you decide to call the EP "Nightmare and Fairytales" ?

ED: nightmares and fairytales are some of the mediums used by humans to read and overcome their fears...it is a fantastic journey, in every sense…

MT: Was it easy to put it all together from the beginning to the final product?

AM: yeah… basically I wrote the entire album (not only the ep) during 2021… then I met the other guys and part by part we arrived to the final result… I can say pretty simple and without any hurry or deadline.

MT: Who writes the lyrics for your songs, and where does the inspiration come from ?

ED: Me!!! Ahahah! When I listen to music I already see places, images, situations that later guide me in writing the lyrics....

MT: Do you have a favourite song on the EP, and why that one?

AM: Hard to say but if I have to choose only one I’ll say Nightmares because it is the most complex.

ED: “Nightmares”, also for me… I reproduce the feeling of when I wrote it every time I listen to it again....

MT: How did you decide on which song to release first?

AM: no rules or shit like that… just the right feeling… really

MT:  Will you do a tour to promote?

AM: not for now! Basically R.E. are a studio project BUT we are slowly thinking about starting to play live! Also in this case… no rules… we’ll see day by day what happens

MT:  Is it tough to be a metal band in Italy?

ED: Next question, please... XD
Italians are often their own first enemies, let's put it this way....

MT: What are your plans next?

AM: Of course the release of the full length album!

MT: Tell us what you hope people will get from your new EP ?

ED: I hope they find a part of themselves in it...

MT: Is there anything you would like to add that I might have missed asking ?

ED: No awkward questions...so there was all that was needed to really talk about music! Thank you very much!

We wish you all the success with Nightmare and Fairytales. Thank you for taking the time to do this interview with us here at Metaltitans.
