QUIET RIOT

Tonight,  I get to cover the one and only, 70's American rockers, Quiet Riot.  I was looking forward to this ever since I learned of them coming to Vancouver. This is my first time seeing Quiet Riot live, and at the Great Canadian Casino Vancouver, also a first time for me attending an event at this venue.

When the band first started, I was young at that time, and didn't really get into Quiet Riot, but a few years later, once I heard them, I was hooked. Did you know Quiet Riot was the first metal band to have a number one album on the billboard charts? An interesting fact that I too, learned as well !

So if you want to "Party All Night",  this was the place to be. Excellent choice of venue, all seats, you were not fighting the crowds that normally congegreate on the floor. The last 2 songs  the band asked people to come up front. I prefered my seat as I could see and get a better sound quality.  It was hard to just sit in your seat when you listen, they have that sound where you want to just get up and dance. But I had horns high, swaying back and forth, the music was just so good, and they didn't miss a beat.

I have to say it was really hard to write a review, I was enjoying myself so much, but I just sat down and re-lived the show in my mind and my review started to come together. So "Let's Get Crazy", and do this.
They played some of their classic songs, (couldn't go wrong with those), "Thunderbird" to me, was one that touched your heart, it was dedicated to the members of the band, who sadly have passed away. I had a tear in my eye, and I am sure it I was not the only one, at the end of the song everyone pointed up in memorium . You know there is nothing better when you can sing along with the band, makes the night that much more of a memory to carry with you.

Every band member put in 150% to give us the best of the best. Sound was great, the lighting was amazing, and it was great to watch Rudy play and change up with his movements around the stage. Rudy is also known for his career including Ozzy, Whitesnake, Dio, Blue Oyster Cult, and even The Guess Who, impressive right?  You just need to watch him on stage and know that this is one talented musician. Jizzy who performs the lead vocals, did a fantastic job up there, phenomenal voice. Johnny, the newest edition to the band behind the kit, blasted out those beats to perfection, and didn't overpower any of the others. Alex on guitar is a riff master , one that didn't make any mistakes, and melted right into the band as a whole. Talk about talent from each and every one of them. That is what makes for a great night.

Last song of the night, "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" was truly a crowd pleaser, a lot of people singing along with this one. Everyone knew this song, as they should, probably their most famous song in their catalogue. Killer way to end the night off.  Thank you for leaving us with such a fantastic, memorable night.
