With 20 dates announced for this run Slipknot brought hip-hop/punk rock openers Ho99o9 (pronounced “Horror”) and West Coast hip-hop pioneers Cypress Hill.

Ho99o9 which plays a strong mix of hip-hop, punk and noise rock. Eaddy and theOGM make up the band since 2012. It was a great start to the night! With Ho99o9 you won't find any guitars just a backing track and former Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Billy Rymer, and alot of salty grooving vocals for the fans. Well done!

Cypress Hill was up next and smoked filled the stage by delivering an amazing set performance. B-Real, Eric "Bobo" Correa and DJ Lord of Public Enemy lit up the audience with tracks of “How I Could Just Kill a Man,” “I Ain’t Going Out Like That”, I Wanna Get High and their most popular single “Insane in the Brain.” followed by closing out the set with the cover of “Jump Around.” I've been a fan of these guys and it was great to see them live as there were a number of people bouncing around tonight who loved Cypress Hill back in the day too. Good times and happy vibes was tonights receipe and blunts a plenty were to be had.

Next up was Slipknot and to get the crowd ready the arena's sound system played AC/DC's "For Those About To Rock" with a black fabric with there logo drapped in front of the stage. You can feel the anticipation followed by Bolly Jo Spears "Get Behind Me and Push" and then dead silence as drums and guitars blared in and the fabric was pulled to the top revealing Slipknot front and centered were guitarists Jim Root and Mick Thomson, and bassist Alessandro Venturella on the floor with Corey Taylor vocals perched in the front middle. In the upper tiers is drummer Jay Weinberg and to the sides DJs Sid Wilson and Craig Jones along with Shawn "Clown" Crahan and Michael Pfaff jumping right into nu metal business with the opening song “Disasterpiece” as the arena burst into cheers and screams. “Wait and Bleed.” was the next song followed by “All Out Life,” that really worked the near sold out crowd into a frenzy.

I think one of the things I really enjoy about slipknot is that they leave nothing on the table and give there fans a all out entertaining show. Their fan base is still stronger than ever since 95. I saw few dads have there kids up on there shoulders so that they don't miss the awesome multiple tiers monitors that were displayed the length of the stage and the super hot pyro. Tonight, the seattle crowd were following every word to each of there songs and the circle pit was none stop with shirtless males doing the mosh. Songs played that stood out were "The Devil In I", "Unsainted", "Snuff", "Duality" and "Spit It Out". Corey Taylor insured fans a new album was coming soon as they played their new single "The Chapeltown Rag".

I have seen Slipknot a hand full of times and each time they up there game with an amazing staged light show and pyrotechnics as it was over the top this evening plus other inducing visuals for my metal enjoyment. This is what you would expect to see at a Slipknot show. If you can't make the show this time around Slipknot announced a fall tour with support from Ice Nine Kills and Crown The Empire To Hit The Road 9/20 – 10/7. Its great that we know these guys will be around for quite some time so get you tickets when they come to your area. You don't want to miss them!
