Well you know if John 5 is close by, I am definitely going to go and review the show. Never fails, always a great experience that will last until he returns, whether it be Rob Zombie, or his solo project.  I usually start with openers, but lets spice things up and start off my review with such an amazing artist.

Now the headliner tonight, we all know him, and for me, this is who I came for, I don't miss him when he comes to the Pacific Northwest. No way. The joy I get from his music and watching him on stage, well I can tell you it left me with some terrific memories to hold dear and will anxiously await the next tour that brings him here.  My jaw always drops at the ability and the talent behind John 5, it truly is amazing, such intricate shredding,  and to remember all those riffs for all the songs, how does he do it? I am sure that there isn't a song/riff that he can't play, he is just that good. He catches your eye the moment he steps on stage. Masks, you bet, he had a few, always exciting to see those, makes for a visually appealing show, well his whole stage set up is cool, there are 4 large screens playing snippets of old horror movies like Frankenstein, and so many more. I don't remember most because I am always watching his hands on the guitar, and watching his band mates Ian Ross on bass, and Alejandro Mercado on drums. His guitars, yes guitar(s), green water filled, mini fender, Led Fender Telecaster, and his Fender that he played mostly, all sounded exquisite, if you can say that about guitar playing. What was nice though, you could hear each instrument, it wasn't hidden behind the drums or bass. Make sure to catch John 5 and The Creatures when they come to  your town, they really are remarkable and leave a lasting impression unlike a traditional "instrumental band".  Songs, well they played plenty, all fantastic choices, including new ones from his recent release, "Sinner".  I smiled the whole time , I think everyones favourite might have been "I am John 5" , you could sing along with that one. A whole lot of covers, and capturing the realm of music that we all enjoy. Make no mistake John 5 has the ability to capture and  hold your interest the whole night.  I know I am already anxiously waiting for his return. Thank you so much for giving Vancouver a night to remember.

Only 2 dates left of this tour:
Sept 3 Brick by Brick, Sand Diego, CA
Sept 4 Rainbow Bar and Grill, Hollywood, CA
With: @litaford @officialwed13 @TheIronMaidens and more

Openers are a band that I hadn't even heard of until this tour announced, they're called KRASHKARMA. This is my first live show experience of the band, and honestly was on the fence about it. I know, I know never judge before seeing. Who are the two that created KRASHKARMA, it is Niki Skistimas on drums and vocals while Ralf Dietel on guitar and backing vocals. They sure had the Rickshaw Theatre rocking, it was amazing to watch these two in action, did not expect it, and that is always a great thing, to discover a new band. They both had so much energy, you have to see it to believe it.  I only have one thing to add, please Ralf, when you throw out that drum stick, do it underhand, not whipping it full force into the crowd, because getting it to the head(thankfully not my eye!), hurts like no tomorrow, still hurt a few days later. Aside from that, these two have crafted their style and music to perfection. Check them out when they come to your town, you won't be disappointed.
