This sunny, spring evening, it was time for the Abbotsford Centre to rock, with Disturbed and Theory of a Deadman hitting the stage. This show date was the last date for Disturbed's headlinging tour featuring Theory of a Deadman. The tour is split up amongst the other touring acts Ukranian metallers, Jinjer, and Breaking Benjamin, both touring amongst sets of dates in the summer. For now, let me review the first part of this tour run.

Canadian rockers, Theory of a Deadman, my first time seeing them in an "arena" performance, as last I saw them was a couple months before the pandemic began at the Commodore Ballroom. Honestly, not my favourite taste in music, as I often say they remind me a little too much of Nickelback at times, especially since when they first hit the scene, Nickelback too was very popular. That being said, the band has grown substantially since those days and going through a name change of being "Theory" and now jumping back to the original name, they still had a great feedback from the fans in the arena tonight. If this genre of hard rock is your thing, Theory of a Deadman hits the spot I am sure, and worth checking out.

However, I still feel a lot of people missed out as I entered the arena at 10min to 9pm, which was Theory of a Deadman's start time, and wow, there were definitely 100's of people still standing outside to get into the venue. Not sure if there was some "hiccups" or unexpected delays with door opening, but hopefully the people in the line were waiting for Disturbed, as most likely would have missed a good portion of the set due to the long lines.

The time, 10:25pm, and it is time, to get "Down with the Sickness" and check out Disturbed. I will say, listening to these guys I flash back to my early days of metal, aka, early high school. Listening to the classics like "Stupify", "Inside the Fire", and of course "Down with the Sickness", however, getting to hear some of the newer ones like "Hey You", or the cover performance of "The Sound of Silence", the overall variety of songs from Disturbed was fantastic. The band has definitely grown since my days in high school, especially their fan base, the arena was jam packed with 1,000's of fans, all chanting with excitement and enthusiasm for the performance. The overall performance was great, all band members performed well. Don't miss your chance on their second leg of the tour starting in July.
