On the fourth day of Carcass’ U.S. tour, they stop by The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA . Unfortunately Creeping Death was not able to join them for this date since their instruments were stolen days before. Since this happened Immolation opened up the show and played a longer set. The death metal legends from New York  kicked off the show with the title track “ An Act of God” off their new full length album.  Ross Dolan delivering some of the heaviest vocals in death metal while driving home those heavy bass lines that made the Observatory tremble from front to back. He sounded just as good as he did 30 years ago from their first record. As the band is touring to promote “ An Act of God”  they played a majority of their set  from that album along with songs from their first album “ Dawn of Possession “ and everything in between.  Robert, Alex and Steve were firing on all cylinders for the entirety of their hour long set. This band delivers one hell of a death metal show and if you get the chance to see them, do not hesitate because you will not be disappointed .

People start to fill the room as they are aware of what is to happen next. Hailing all the way from Liverpool, England, Carcass takes the stage to an excited but ready crowd. Getting straight into it with “ Exhume to Consume “ off of “ Symphonies of Sickness “ from 1989. A pit breaks out in the middle of room and continues to wreak havoc throughout the entirety of the set. Jeff Walker vocals are visceral and punchy that make you feel all of the morbid lyrics that he is spewing out along with animated facial expressions that help deliver each and every song. Accompanied by original band mate Bill Steer shredding on the axe and delivering that melodic death metal sound that they pioneered back in 1993.  The crowd starts to chant “ Carcass, Carcass, Carcass” the band breaks into more of what the people came to The Observatory for and that is some more Carcass. Ending the show with “ Carneous Cacoffiny “ , a heavy hitting , punch to the face song that reminds you why Carcass has been around for over three decades. If you get the chance to catch them at a city near you, make sure you do because they are one of the best to do it
